What problems? They must be fixed. If you run Cinnamon try Mate.
Please check the long thread "Mint window manager bugs" in order to read about
our problems with the Mint team.

Hi Martin

what the problem:

When I choose a drop down item In the Object Inspector :

For example in fo_terminateonclose, I have the dropdown items ( true, false)

but when  I choose one of them I can not see the  result, the field is empty ?

This result is the same with all items with drop down  in object inspector?

Aha, most likely the EXA acceleration problem. See README.TXT about the radeon
driver. Also a hopless problem:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84253
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69543

Which graphic chip do you use? Try to use the proprietary graphic driver if
there is one instead of the opensource version.

Not Linux, but more stable... try FreeBSD 11 instead. I run FreeBSD with
JWM. JWM is not a "desktop environment" but install a stand-alone X11
Window Manager. I have no problems with MSEgui. JWM doesn't get in my
way, only uses 4 global keyboard shortcuts. It leaves me to use my
system as I please, which I like.

Obvioly you can run Gnome (aka Mate), Cinnamon, KDE etc too. I have them
installed and working, but I chose to stay with JWM (which only uses
15MB of memory).

It would be interesting if the video drivers used on FreeBSD have the same EXA
problems as the radeon driver. Does FreeBSD use radeon?

I used to run a Radeon HD 9800 (?) card about 4 years ago, but with the
open source ATI/AMD driver. Performance sucked. I then moved over to
100% silent Nvidia card with proprietary drivers. Performance was
excellent. Since then I've upgraded my Nvidia card to the GeForce GTK
1060 card (primarily so I can hook up 3 monitors) running the v375.66
(currently) proprietary driver. Again performance is excellent and even
hardware video decoding and such works. In fact my exact system
dual-booted to 64-bit Win7 doesn't perform as good as FreeBSD does. I
ran the same benchmark tests.

ATI/AMD doesn't have proprietary drivers for FreeBSD.

  Graeme

So Mohamed maybe would have the same EXA display problems on FreeBSD as on
Linux with the radeon opensource driver.
